Over 220,000 overseas buyers have attended the 137th Canton Fair, setting a new record for the same period

Xinhua News Agency, Guangzhou, April 27th (Reporters Zhan Yijia and Ding Le) - The second phase of the 137th Canton Fair concluded on April 27th. According to information from the China Foreign Trade Center, which organizes the Canton Fair, as of April 27th, a total of 224,372 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions have attended the fair, setting a new record for the same period in history.

The 137th Canton Fair opened on April 15th, with its three phases themed around "Advanced Manufacturing," "Quality Home," and "Better Life." The second phase, focusing on "Quality Home," covered a total exhibition area of 515,000 square meters, featuring 24,735 booths. There were 10,313 participating enterprises, an increase of 273 from the previous edition, including over 2,400 high-quality and distinctive enterprises such as specialized and refined small giants, champions of manufacturing single products, and national-level high-tech enterprises, marking an increase of 100 from the previous session.

A responsible person from the China Foreign Trade Center stated that the second phase of the 137th Canton Fair further highlighted the concept of "Great Home," with exhibition themes covering household items, gifts and decorations, building materials and furniture across three sections and 15 zones. This setup better aligns with the public's demand for consumption upgrades and a better life, satisfying the diverse choices of global buyers for exquisite home products. He Yadong, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, previously mentioned that the brisk atmosphere and active negotiation scenes at the Canton Fair fully reflect the global business community's confidence in China's economic prospects, injecting a "strong heartbeat" into the development of China's foreign trade.
